REQUIREMENTS

On a separate page type an essay indicating why you feel you should receive a scholarship from the National Association of the Church of God Ushers.  Please limit your essay to one (1), typed page.

 

Please submit a letter of recommendation from your Local Usher President, State Usher President, and your Pastor.  If you hold either of these offices, your Vice President(s) must prepare a letter to be submitted with your application. NO APPLICATION WILL BE PROCESSED WITHOUT THE REQUESTED INFORMATION.

 

 

***PLEASE NOTE***

Each applicant’s state must submit a minimum of $350.00 in T-Shirt sales to be eligible  for consideration  of a scholarship. If more than one applicant applies, the total sales for that state must increase by $350.00 per applicant.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Please provide a statement of purpose that incorporates the following:   A Brief intellectual autobiography describing (a) your academic interests  (b) your vocational interests as they relate to the church.

 

(The statement should be approximately 1 typed, double spaced page).

 

 

REFERENCES:

 

Provide THREE letters of reference. (1) letter of reference is REQUIRED from your Pastor; (1) letter from your Local Usher President; (1) letter from a teacher, or a person who can write about your commitment to the church.

 

 

Feel free to include any information you would like to be considered as it pertains to your scholarship application.

 

 

 

 

 

SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES                                                       Deadline: April 1st (no exceptions)

1.       Student must submit a new application each academic year.

2.       The applicant must attend and usher at two annual conventions per year (Ushers Convention, Men’s Convention, West Middlesex, WCG Convention or NIYC).

3.       Three Letters recommendation/reference are REQUIRED.  One letter from your Pastor, one from your Local Usher President, and one from a teacher/professor, or a member of the church who is well acquainted with  the applicant.

4.       The applicant must submit an essay indicating why he/she feels they are worthy to receive to scholarship award.

5.       Proof of acceptance (incoming college freshman); or proof of registration (continuing student) is required.

6.       Two  (2)  $500.00 Scholarship award will be issued annually.

7.       Awards will be issued to the first two applicants that meet ALL required criteria.

8.       Applications will be accepted January 1st of each calendar year for the upcoming Fall Semester.
